I've been happily using Software RAID for ages. Recently I started to get intermittent computer problems that forced me to 'hard' shutdown my computer several times with the computer syncing all RAID 1 volumes afterwards (TB of data). Even though I hope I found the cause of my troubles I currently use RAID 1 only on my small system partition and installed the free Microsoft SyncToy to backup my data to different physical harddrives in my computer. The synchronisation is faster than any file copying I've seen on my machine before; the "toy" is using the Microsoft Sync Framework 2.0.
